CENTRO CULTURAL HIROSHIMA DO BRASIL

What is the Brazil Base?

This base aims to revitalize academic exchange activities centered on joint research by strengthening collaboration with the University of São Paulo, with which we have an inter-university agreement, to promote forward-looking academic exchange activities across multiple fields.
This will be achieved by rebuilding the support system for Japanese nationals, Japanese descendants, and collaborators residing locally.

On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Professor Kyoji Maruyama, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Hiroshima University, along with Associate Professors Makiko Mitsugi and Jongseong Kim, visited the Hiroshima Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Hiroshima do Brasil) located in São Paulo, Brazil, and the Hiroshima University São Paulo Branch housed within it.
During this visit, they assessed the current state of the facilities and exchanged views on future collaboration and cooperation possibilities through meetings with the Center's Chairman and related directors.
The Hiroshima University Branch within the Hiroshima Cultural Center is an overseas base established on April 27, 2009, serving as a key component of Hiroshima University's international education and research network. The establishment of this center is expected to promote the acceptance of students from Brazil and Latin America, as well as researcher exchanges.
